At this roast level, the roast itself becomes a bigger part of the flavor, but the goal is still balance rather than flattening everything into bitterness.
It is darker than Graveyard Roast and more roast-forward by design.

Halfway to the Grave works well in regular drip, French press, pour-over, and other everyday brewing methods.
Because darker roasts extract more easily, you may find you do not need to push the grind as fine or brew as aggressively as you would with a lighter roast.
If you normally add cream because dark coffee tastes harsh, try this one black first.

Halfway to the Grave or Graveyard Roast?
Choose Halfway if you want our darkest, most roast-forward cup. Choose Graveyard if you want a dark roast with more blend complexity and a slightly broader flavor range.
Does dark roast have to taste burnt?
No. Dark roast can be deep, heavy, and roast-forward without tasting like charcoal. Good roasting still matters after the beans get dark.
