Why we built it this way

Breakfast Blend is a style, not one specific bean or origin. The component coffees can move with harvests while the target stays the same: a smooth, balanced cup that works well first thing in the morning.

Zombie Sunrise sits at medium-light, making it the second-lightest regular coffee in the lineup after Daybreak Mourning. That keeps more natural coffee character in the cup without pushing all the way into a very light-roast experience.

Because it is lighter than most of the Dead Tired lineup, it may respond well to slightly hotter water or a touch more extraction than our darker coffees. You do not need to turn breakfast into a science project.

Is Zombie Sunrise a light roast?
It is Medium-Light. Daybreak Mourning is our lightest regular roast, then Zombie Sunrise steps a little darker while keeping the bright, easy breakfast-blend feel.
Zombie Sunrise, Daybreak Mourning, or Rise Again?
Choose Daybreak Mourning for the lightest roast and most origin-forward cup. Choose Zombie Sunrise for an easy Medium-Light breakfast blend. Choose Rise Again if you like the breakfast-blend lane but want a natural caffeine boost from Robusta.
Does a lighter roast automatically have more caffeine?
Not in a way that makes roast color a useful caffeine guide. Bean density, how you measure the coffee, dose, and brewing all matter. If you specifically want more caffeine, choose one of our Robusta-fortified High Caffeine coffees.
Does acidity mean sour or hard on the stomach?
Not necessarily. In coffee, acidity is usually a flavor description for brightness, liveliness, or crispness. It is not automatically the same thing as sourness, and it does not by itself tell you how a coffee will sit with your stomach.

So far, this has been my favorite. It's very smooth, with a slight smokey flavor. Perfect for sitting outside and relaxing as the sun comes up. Delicious!
